In order for that series to converge, the p value had to be greater than 1 according to the p-series test. If the p value was negative than the integral would diverge so p must be great than 0 as well

The answer is B. It is a p-series so it converges when the exponent is > 1. 3p + 1 > 1 p > 0

That's not the answer though. It is p > 0. I don't know why.
