As you may be aware, Reddit is working on a site redesign. With more beta testers coming in and an eventual sitewide launch, we would like to update everyone on where /r/Survivor stands with the upcoming changes.
For time time being, we recommend continuing to browse /r/Survivor on the regular desktop site. The redesign still has a great many bugs and missing features. Additionally, it does not make sense for us to regularly update weekly links until it has a more widespread implementation.
As with any site redesign, it is being received controversially. However, it is still in the beta stage, meaning it's still a ways off from being finalized.
The redesign is currently being slowly rolled out to select groups of beta testers.
Currently, we have a mock-up design in place. While there are templates in place for our sticky board and sidebar photos, we do not plan on regularly updating these until more redesign rules are in place and the redesign has much wider access.
We will be happy to accept feedback on our design, including graphics, top menu links, and sidebar arrangement. General redesign feedback can be submitted to the redesign team via /r/redesign.
Our current goal is to eventually fully enable the redesign. However, this will require the appropriate tools being available to us. We will keep the subreddit community informed in regards to any further plans on this.
We would like to eventually convert our flair system to the redesign. However, we have no timeline in place for this. The current tools available for flairs in the redesign are limited and incomplete. We will have to see much more of what we have to work with before we can implement a plan. Therefore, for the indefinite future, flairs and badges will stay on the old site.
We will regularly update this section to include any common questions and concerns we come across regarding the redesign.
One cool new feature of the redesign is a calendar sidebar widget, to which we can add upcoming AMAs and Survivor episodes. However, it does not currently display the correct time. This is a bug with the redesign that should eventually be fixed.
As explained above, we will not be regularly updating these links until the redesign has a wide enough release to justify it.
General feedback about the redesign can be submitted to the redesign team via /r/redesign.
If you're reading this, you are using the reddit redesign. As the redesign is incomplete and lacks many tools used by /r/Survivor, we recommend using "Old Reddit."
The user flair system is currently incomplete on the redesign. Therefore, users must request flairs on the old site. The text of the flair will display on the redesign, but gold/silver/winner flairs and winner badges will NOT show up on the redesign for the time being.
/r/Survivor and the Reddit Survivor Discord have a loose affiliation. While they are connected as partner platforms, they are moderated differently by overall different groups of mods. However, vote manipulation on /r/Survivor, promoted from Discord, will not be tolerated. Same with harassment that crosses channels, either way — this too will be dealt with by warnings and bans.
