you guys have seen me bitch and moan about anthony repeatedly because i see him doing the same things here as he did at his old sub when that one got ruined. He's a terrible, petty, vindictive mod who has turned the sub into a personal vanity project. here's a very short list of his terribleness:

u/anthonyd46 has no credibility as an unbiased moderator, as an evaluator of fake or real spoilers and doesn't deserve to be a moderator here. I run subs with nearly 100K members and we've gotten fewer complaints about overmoderation in 8 years than I've seen in the past 24 hours.

I get that most of the other mods are more on the main Survivor sub and wanted to rely on anthony to run this place when his old sub merged (after a death by a thousand cuts of the same bullshit over-moderation and gatekeeping), but you need to find a new individual or preferably a team to run this sub instead.

If you don't remove him as a mod within 1 week (May 23), someone else will set up a different spoiler sub and begin recruiting users from this one so it dies the same death as anthony's last vanity project.

Now that this season is over, there must be a reckoning.

Anthony has deceived us & misled us (whether knowingly or unknowingly) all season long. Despite being called out time and time again, he never corrected his behavior. He never verified his sources. He deleted posts that criticized his behavior, and he deleted his own posts that were woefully incorrect. Worst of all, he tried to pass of speculation as spoilers.

This culminated in the F6 spoilers he posted just yesterday, and has since deleted because of how wrong they were.

He must resign. He is not fit to be a mod.

Edit: It has now come to my attention that not only did he delete posts criticizing him, but he banned at least one user for “embarrassing” him.

Edit2: This thread was temporarily hidden from the front page & top page for about 10 minutes.

Edit3: This has been deleted and restored TWICE now

Hello all,

We've been discussing the situation on the subreddit since the last few days of the season and post-finale. There are some changes to be made for this to be a successful community moving forward.

To address the elephant in the room, anthonyd46 has been removed as a moderator. I know this is the main thing people have been clamoring for so I want to address that upfront. In the rest of this post I want to explain a bit about how we got here and what we (the mod team) are looking for this subreddit to be, and get your feedback and suggestions for keeping this community running.

I want to start with the reason for this subreddit existing to begin with, as it will lead into discussion of the subreddit continuing to exist.

We (being the /r/Survivor mod team) were in full support of there being a spoiler subreddit, since it provides an outlet for spoilers/discussion so they don't impact /r/Survivor itself. Users of the main subreddit have clearly said they don't want spoilers beyond the very basic art/theme stuff. /r/Survivor is the main focus of the /r/Survivor mod team, which I'm sure most people would agree is reasonable.

Originally there was /r/survivorspoilers, which we were happy to direct people to as it fulfilled our aims. However, after the moderation that happened there (not by anthony, but by the creator), we stated our intention to create an official spoiler subreddit that would go in conjunction with /r/Survivor. And so /r/SpoiledSurvivor came online.

Why did no one ever question why Chris was never banned from the reunion?

Even if the red buff photo was meaningless and Chris didn't make the merge, it was still him breaking his NDA. In fact, it was a much more potentially damaging spoiler than what Alec did the season before.

This should have been the big indication that Chris ultimately had a much bigger role in the grand finale.

With 20 winners returning there will be many possibilities for a narrative story structure. You can’t tell 20 stories at once so if there is no mention of any of the following narratives in the first few episodes it’s safe to assume they will have no affect on the outcome of the season:

-Rob and Amber playing in the same season again

-Parvati getting revenge on Sandra

-Old school vs new school

-A divide of “good winners” and “bad winners” (Wendell, Ben, Adam could get a kind of redemption arc, or generally agreed “good” winners will get JT’d)

-The reuniting of various winners who have played together (Jeremy and Natalie, Tony and Sarah, HvV gang)

-Tony. (Either he will be a flash in the pan again or he’ll cool his Tonyness for at least the premerge.)
