It's actually comical how on the biggest night of the year so far, the teams were chasing beat the 1st and 3rd best teams in the league... shutting them out! Yikes. I don't think were going to get much help here, might have to put together a Bakersfield type streak.
I would say Babcock's best bet is too just keep Anderson/Sparks pulled the entire game
We were playing in there zone and couldn’t score.
What’s wrong with us
I just want to say how much more I love the blue jerseys than the orange. Please make those the official jerseys for next season!!
I love the orange jerseys, of course it helps it's my favourite colour and my first car was that colour.
BRING BACK THE 16-17 SET!
They should use the Bakersfield colour scheme with the navy blue. Those are SHARP
Oh ya, you're right. Those looks sweet! Just any jersey that's primarily blue over orange any day.
I like what we did in 2016, where we used the orange for 3rd jerseys and then in the playoffs. Hopefully, we go back to the blues as our main jersey soon.
They're iconic, it's a crime to not use the blues
I've never been a fan of the orange, specifically bought a McDavid Jersey from draft year so it was blue
I bought a knock-off blue McDavid jersey the day we won the draft lottery. It hasn't aged so well (you can really tell it's a knock off now after a few dozen washes), but it's got a good story anyways.
I have a knockoff Orange nurse Jersey, it's very obvious but I'm not playing 250 for every Jersey.
Is it one of the ones where the orange dots in the numbers are huge?
The old orange ones were better. My wife bought me one for the playoff run and I love it.
The old orange ones had a better shade of orange for use as a primary colour. The new away jerseys with the new, more vibrant, orange look fantastic though as the orange is just an accent colour
Fuck the Wild
No favors from Tampa or Calgary last night? Oof. But we keep winning, so I'll keep holding onto hope.
The updated projected playoff line says we need an 11-3-1 record from this point forward.
I swear I heard on ched 4 wins ago that we needed 12-4-1
Considering that could only be a record from 2 games ago...
2 games ago that might have been close to the math. Wild got 3 points in their last 2 games, so the projected playoff line moved up 1 point since then. Had the wild lost last night against TAMPA BAY, then the math would be 10-4-1.
But this is just purely the math. I'm not predicting the team to suddenly get cold or go on a hot-streak. Just purely based on their performance from the 66 or whatever games prior, if they keep that same kind of pace going, then what I calculated will be the line.
The way race is going, with Dallas and Minnesota heating up, and Arizona hanging around... it's very possible we might have to get even more wins than projected. The fact of the matter is, we aren't in control of our own destiny. We could go undefeated, and if other teams we're chasing don't lose enough games, it still might not be enough.
So we'll have to get some help one way or another. But, I like keeping this mathematical "projected record to make the playoffs" updated. It gives you a fairly accurate assessment of the size of this mountain we have ahead of us.
Seriously, I swear Tampa and Calgary lost on purpose to spite us, haha
Calgary definitely did. Fuck those guys.
Tampa's just more used to playing trash teams like Ottawa and Detroit for easy points, so when they get a game against a hungry team fighting for it's playoff lives, I guess they're due for a loss sometimes.
They don't want to get swept by us in the first round.
The getting swept part is inevitable, they just really don't want it to be their provincial rival.
MIN needs to stop getting points. 6 points out of CGY, NSH, NSH, TBY? This is stupid. Donato and Fiala have suddenly become world beaters. Also Calgary starts to slide as soon as we need them to help us out. Good rivals, I'll give them that.
Come on Florida! Throw us a bone, let us close the gap.
